How we compare
We compare free access, paid entry, plan limits, features and the listed official sources. Unsourced figures stay marked as not published.
Only confirmed entries appear in the catalog. Prices, plans and limits come from listed official vendor pages. Missing figures stay marked as not published. Search results are ordered by Task match by default; category and task lists are alphabetical. Both can be switched to Free access first; neither is a quality ranking. The vendor page always wins.

FAQ
Is Comet available for free?
Yes. A permanently free plan is published, not a time-limited trial.

How is Comet billed?
The Comet browser itself has been free worldwide for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android since October 2025 and can be used without a Perplexity account. The optional content add-on "Comet Plus" (about $5/month) is included free in the existing Perplexity subscriptions Pro and Max or can be booked separately. Standalone product, separate from the catalog entry Perplexity (search/chat product).
What is “Perplexity AI” on my bank or card statement?
According to our catalog data, Perplexity AI is the company behind Comet, so a charge under this name may come from a subscription or purchase at Comet. The invoices in your Comet account help to match the charge; for an unknown charge, contact your bank.
