Features

Google Veo is a Google DeepMind video model for Google Flow, the Gemini API, and Vertex AI. In the Gemini app itself, Gemini Omni has replaced Veo as the video generation and editing model.

API: Veo 3.1 creates initial clips of 4, 6, or 8 seconds with native audio. 1080p, 4K, and reference images require an 8-second duration; 4K is unavailable on Veo 3.1 Lite and video extensions remain limited to 720p.

For controlled scenes, Veo supports a first and last frame, up to three reference images, and extensions of previously generated Veo clips. Flow credits in Google AI subscriptions and per-second API billing are separate usage models.

Limits

Google Flow offers daily free credits and extra monthly credits in Google AI subscriptions; free video access may be restricted during peak demand. Veo runs in Flow and through APIs, while the Gemini app uses Omni for video. API pricing, Flow credits, and resolution features are separate; 4K through the API does not mean the same 4K access in every Flow plan.
