Limits
An internet connection is required. Instant dictation uses Avalon; the FAQ says Realtime Mode uses an external realtime speech provider. Privacy Mode prevents transcript retention, but session metadata may still be collected. The terms require explicit consent for model training. Sources conflict on the Starter engine: the pricing page lists Avalon, while another part of the general FAQ lists a legacy engine. The 1,000 words are a starting allowance per account, not a verified monthly quota. The FAQ says Aqua does not yet offer a HIPAA BAA for protected US health data. The file-based API supports neither streaming, diarisation nor word timestamps; account limits are reported in response headers.
