Features

Amazon Q Developer supports IDE code completion, chat and code generation, plus questions in the AWS console. The former Q CLI is now Kiro CLI. AWS ends support for Q Developer IDE plugins on April 30, 2027 and directs migration to Kiro. This is not an announcement that the entire Q Developer service will close on that date.

Limits

The Build page lists 1,000 chat interactions/month; the pricing page only says Pro includes limited usage. The current quota HTML page inconsistently labels agentic requests in code lines. A clear current chat or inference-call allowance is therefore not confirmed. Java allowances are pooled at the AWS payer account; only submitted code lines that return suggested upgrade code count, excluding comments and blank lines. .NET transformation has separate regional quotas. Pro admin features require IAM Identity Center and are not included with personal Builder ID subscriptions. Free offers a data-collection opt-out; Pro is automatically opted out.
