BabyAGI 3
Run a self-hosted agent with persistent memory, schedules, and custom tools.
Category: Development & Code · Agent & RAG frameworks
Features
BabyAGI 3 is MIT-licensed code, not a hosted subscription with included tokens or runs. The documented setup requires Python 3.12+, the project dependencies, and your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key. Optional services such as AgentMail, SendBlue, Recall, Browser Use Cloud, E2B, and Composio can cost extra. Commercial code use is allowed under the MIT terms; the software is provided without warranty.
The HTTP server can trigger real actions. Public deployment needs authentication, TLS, and restricted access; self-hosted agents require technical maintenance. BabyAGI 3 is neither the archived original 2023 BabyAGI nor the separate functionz project in the older babyagi repository.
- Python 3.12+ and installed project dependencies
- Your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key
- Persistent memory, background objectives, and schedules
- CLI, communication channels, or HTTP server
- Optional external services require separate setup and billing

Limits
Memory processing, background objectives, and recurring tasks can also trigger model calls. Cost metrics and configurable spending approvals do not guarantee a complete spending block. Local memory does not mean offline-only processing: content is sent for model calls and enabled services. The project says some optional API integrations are not yet thoroughly live-tested.
