## In brief
Microsoft Designer is a browser-based AI-powered graphic design tool for images, social-media posts, and marketing materials. AI image generation is based on DALL-E and integrated into editable templates.

Free use is restricted to private, non-commercial purposes; commercial use requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot Business plan. The standalone DALL-E offering in Azure was discontinued in 2026.

## Limits
No standalone paid Designer SKU; expanded usage runs through an existing Microsoft 365 or Copilot Pro subscription (shared credit allowance with Copilot there).
